Introducing Grace Alive College

It all made sense back in November of 2019...excitement from the church, passion in my heart, good time for a transition; it seemed like it all made sense! Then 2020 happened. A week before the country was quarantined, I received the opportunity to start ”Grace Alive Collge”. The enthusiasm and emotions were hard to describe, God has given me a clear vision and He was going to make it happen.

For college students to…

DISCOVER - Shift from hatred of Jesus to friends and children of God - 1John 3:1-3

DEEPEN - Grow in genuine and Christ-centered relationships through discipleship - 2Tim 2:1-3

DISPLAY - Impact our community and the nations while serving and leading others to Christ - James 2:14-26

This is the invitation, this is the vision and calling we, as a church, have joined!

The times are challenging, but not for God! Most students all around the world are taking virtual classes, campuses have very strict regulations as to what activities can be performed on-site, many football games being played with no fans or under 30% capacity, and the list goes on. But despite all challenges, God’s work continues, His kingdom is expanding and His people are displaying the beauty of His creativity and workmanship. This is a time to start a ministry with the most powerful weapon and the most successful strategy of all...PRAYER.

Not only in our homes but on the campuses, prayer is incredibly important to me because my relationship with Jesus began with somebody praying over the campus.

Prayer can have a tremendous impact on a college campus. THOUSANDS OF SOULS WHO ARE MADE IN GOD’S IMAGE ARE WALKING ON A COLLEGE CAMPUS EVERY DAY SEEKING THE ANSWERS TO LIFE’S DEEP QUESTIONS. What a great opportunity God has given us during times like this. He is calling us to enlist as prayer warriors and ask the Lord of the harvest to prepare His field, and send out workers. He wants to unleash the power of God’s Spirit in our lives and on the campuses of Orlando.

As in Exodus 33, I find myself like Moses asking God, who, when, how, why?. But the Lord, consistently, points me to Him, not the work, to His glory, not results, to His kingdom, not my merits. I must remember God loves college students more than I do, He has a plan to reach them that goes beyond any strategy or ABC’s I can think of.

May we use this time to draw closer to God’s heart May the Lord fill our hearts with His love for college students in Orlando and Central Florida. May we follow Jesus, and His words and actions be our signature May the Holy Spirit go before us and prepare the way for the Gospel to be received and celebrated.
