He Who Finds A Good Church Finds A Good Thing

Fourth Gratefulness says, “he who finds a good church finds a good thing.” Okay so I obviously made that up, but it does not negate the validity of that statement. Let me just say that a good thing is absolutely what my family and I have found at Grace Alive! Philippians 1:3 states that” I give thanks to my God for every remembrance of you,” This one is not made up, so you do not have to worry! That verse embodies my exact sentiments about Grace Alive! Since its inception the movement of Grace Alive has had an impeccable reputation. My family and I were attending a different church when we caught wind of the sweet aroma of Grace Alive, when it was time for us to find a new church home, we were drawn to Grace Alive. We visited for a few months and were hooked! We made things exclusive with Grace Alive in January of 2019 and it has been absolutely edifying ever since.

No church is perfect, we can all agree on that. However, what captivates me about Grace Alive is the fact that what The Bible says should be on the heart of the Church, is the heart of Grace Alive. At Grace Alive, “people are the mission”, the focus is not only on the people outside of Grace Alive that we are trying to reach but those already within Grace Alive as well. At Grace Alive we want everyone to know that “we are not like a family, but we are a family”! This is undeniably refreshing as a potential member and even more so once engrafted into the family. My family has felt nothing but the relentless love of Christ at Grace Alive. Subsequentially the culture of Grace Alive has provided my family an opportunity to be part of a culture that serves and loves others. We have been able to get connected with an amazing community group (“growth happens in groups”), our kids have been taught by some very amazing children’s church teachers while making friends that are amazing themselves. Being a part of serving on the worship team has been an eye-opening experience that has shown me how Jesus works in the life of the worship team so that they may create an atmosphere for The Holy Spirit to work in the life of the congregation. Having the opportunity to get involved in the youth ministry is very exciting (“multiplication in not an option, it’s a must”), there is no ceiling on the impact our youth can have for Jesus in this world! At the end of the day our service is to Jesus and we are called to it but how refreshing is it when your church makes it a joy to serve.

When it comes to giving and generosity how we prioritize our money can be a true test of our allegiance. Though it is not easy, it is very encouraging to be a part of a church like Grace Alive who believes that “your generosity fuels the mission” and that it’s “not guilt, not greed; we give because of Grace”. Revelation 7:9-10 says, “After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude that no one could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, “Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” The heart of Grace Alive is that the church would look like the picture depicted above, let me just say that this is a very rejuvenating character to find in a church! I leave you with two last quotes that imbody Grace Alive; “Come as you are. Never leave the same.” and “Grace Alive is a movement for all people to discover, deepen, and display their relationship with Jesus.”
