COVID-19 Update May 2021

Grace Alive Family,

We are encouraged by the CDC’s recent announcement that vaccinated people can go without wearing masks in most indoor and all outdoor environments. This is encouraging news as it means our city and nation are on the road towards greater normalcy.

In light of this and other updated CDC guidelines, we are modifying two aspects of our Sunday services beginning Sunday, May 23rd. First, masking will be welcomed but not required. Second, we will adjust our physical distancing when seated from a minimum of 6 feet to a minimum of 3 feet. Furthermore, to ensure we are providing a safe environment in Grace Alive Kids, all Grace Alive Kids team members will continue to wear masks at this time. Please also continue to utilize the hand sanitizing stations throughout our facilities and honor the comfortability of others.

Pastorally, we realize that there are varied perspectives amongst our church regarding the best response to this ongoing pandemic. Many have grown accustomed to wearing masks. While it is disheartening that responses to this pandemic have become a polarized and politicized point of public debate, it will take a while for some to feel comfortable going without a mask. This is ok and should not be a point of contention. We must continue to be led by the Spirit and be a people marked by love, peace, patience, kindness, and gentleness with one another (Galatians 5:22-23). The Evil One would love to sow division within the church over these matters. Instead, let’s guard our hearts and tongues as we continue to be a witness of the power of the gospel to unite us even in times of cultural division and crisis.

We look forward to welcoming you as we seek to prioritize our weekly rhythms of worshipping physically together (Hebrews 10:25).
